Coming Together for Social Finance Transformation: RADIUS Partners with Future of Good

We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Future of Good, set to catalyze transformative change in the social finance landscape. This collaboration comes to life at the much-anticipated 2024 Social Finance Forum, a hybrid national conference that fosters inclusive, anti-racist, and intersectional approaches to finance and investment. RADIUS is proud to be a Community Activator for this year’s Forum—one of five cities across Canada hosting in-person programming and experiences for its guests.

Join Us For An Immersive Experience
Mark your calendars for June 12—13, 2024! RADIUS hosts an in-person gathering on Day 1 (June 12) at SFU’s Segal Graduate School Building (downtown Vancouver), and Day 2 is fully digital. Join us as we reimagine social finance in pursuit of a more just and sustainable future. Our aim is to integrate wellness, entertainment, and nourishing food alongside engaging speakers and sessions. You can purchase your tickets here.

Fostering Change Through Collaboration
At RADIUS, we’re working to (re)build a regenerative economy where all can flourish. This vision resonates deeply with the ethos of the Social Finance Forum, which aims to convene changemakers and leaders to activate capital and reshape finance tools for a better future. Through social finance and impact investing, we can help accelerate solutions to today’s challenges by creatively mobilizing private, public, community, and philanthropic capital.

Following last year’s Social Finance Forum (and sold-out Vancouver hybrid event), 96% of changemakers highlighted the significance of peer-to-peer learning and networking and expressed eagerness to return in person this year. RADIUS is incredibly excited to host this year’s event in Vancouver, bridging local insights with national discourse through celebratory, thoughtful, and joy-filled experiences.

Supporting Communities Through Equity-Centred Incubators, Accelerators, & Impact Funds
RADIUS has been on a journey guided by community insights to uplift Black, Indigenous, and racialized people, leading transformative social, economic, and environmental systems change initiatives. Through our incubator and accelerator programs like the Equity-Centred Accelerator, First Peoples Enterprise Accelerator Program, Health Promotion Lab, and Refugee Livelihood Lab, we have provided tailored support to ventures led by these communities, ensuring their ideas are at the forefront. In collaboration with Community Foundations of Canada, RADIUS delivered a comprehensive six-month Investment Readiness Program last year, aimed at empowering social purpose organizations across Canada as they prepare for investment. Additionally, our RADIUS investment fund, a donor-advised fund created in partnership with Vancity Community Foundation, invested in 14 early-stage social ventures to address early-stage funding gaps and enhance resilience.

This work aligns with the Social Finance Forum’s mission to activate capital for impactful ventures and create space for underrepresented voices. By joining forces, we amplify our commitment to building shared power to influence unjust socioeconomic systems, advance solutions prioritized by the community, and co-identify interventions for broader change.

Convening for Dialogue and Action
RADIUS aspires to foster meaningful conversations and connections. Whether you are a seasoned investor, grant funder, a budding social entrepreneur, or a community advocate, The Social Finance Forum offers invaluable insights and networking opportunities for all. RADIUS’ in-person regional program and the national agenda promise to be a melting pot of ideas, insights, and actionable strategies to advance social finance in British Columbia and beyond.
