Donovan Woollard has officially joined our team of Radical Doers as the new Director of RADIUS Ventures!
Donovan’s career in business development spans the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors, and includes senior management and leadership roles with:
- Local Garden – a 6,000 square foot vertical farm in downtown Vancouver
- Offsetters – Canada’s leading carbon offset and management firm
- Beachcomber Brewing Company – a new craft brewery launching this Fall
As Director, Donovan will be responsible for refining and delivering the various services that RADIUS Ventures offers to entrepreneurs and ventures in the impact space.
Donovan is thrilled to be joining RADIUS at such an exciting time: “As someone who has dedicated his entire career to building ventures that promote environmental and social well-being, joining the RADIUS team is a fantastic opportunity, providing exposure to world-beating new ventures, thought leadership, and amazing talent,” he said. “The Vancouver social venture space just got a lot more exciting, and it’s great to be a part of it.”
Donovan’s responsibilities will also involve identifying talent from SFU and beyond, and working to ensure that the ventures RADIUS works with are prepared for investment.
“Donovan brings a unique background helping many impactful companies and projects navigate the very challenges that the teams we work with will face,” said Shawn Smith, adjunct professor at the Beedie School of Business and co-founder of RADIUS. “It’s hard to imagine a better fit as we set out to help BC’s social venture ecosystem further establish itself among the best in the world, and explore ways we can contribute to impact investing nationally and internationally.”
Welcome to the team Donovan!
