We are thrilled to announce a partnership between RADIUS and Community Foundations of Canada aimed at supporting Social Purpose Organizations (SPOs) in their financing journeys. As part of the Investment Readiness Program (IRP) funded by the Government of Canada’s SI/SF Strategy, RADIUS is facilitating a comprehensive Business Model Development course designed specifically for SPOs who have successfully received Investment Readiness funding through 2022/23. This course will provide invaluable support and resources to help these organizations refine and strengthen their business models as they work to solve pressing social, cultural, and environmental challenges across Canada.
The Business Model Development course, hosted by RADIUS, spans from June 1, 2023, to November 30, 2023, and will be delivered over two cohorts, accommodating a total of 24 SPOs. The program is tailored to meet the unique needs of these organizations, and to respond to the particular challenges they face. It will offer a flexible and responsive learning experience.
Participants will benefit from a combination of online lectures, workshops, and one-on-one coaching sessions. Each organization has specific challenges, needs, and opportunities, and our focus will be on providing personalized support throughout the course.
The workshops will be designed to cater to participants’ needs, allowing for peer connections, and collaborative learning. Topics covered will include product/market fit, revenue strategies, marketing, operations excellence (including HR and finance basics), planning for investment, and more. Depending on participants’ interests, we may explore additional areas such as equity-centred design, Trauma of Money, or building cultures that help sustain self, team, and organization.
As part of the Investment Readiness Program (IRP) Learning Initiative, RADIUS is offering two cohorts within this course. One is open to all interested applicants, while the other is an “affinity cohort” specifically reserved for Black, Indigenous, and racialized applicants. We recognize the value of creating a safe space for BIPOC leaders and teams, allowing for tailored discussions and connections that reflect their unique experiences.
We are excited to embark on this journey with SPOs across Canada. Through the Investment Readiness Program (IRP) Learning Initiative, RADIUS and Community Foundations of Canada aim to provide invaluable guidance, tools, and networks to help participants build more resilient communities for the future.
